Project management or business development?
ByI have a Ph.D. in Medical Oncology and worked for three years as R & D scientist screening new drugs against cancer. I kept my MBA and finished the race less than a year ago. Since completing my MBA, I took a position at a major provider of pharmaceutical services to identify risks in study protocols (for customers) through global research surveys and material aid preparer for proposals and bid defense meetings (for use internally). I like my position, but would like to use my MBA skills more and am planning to search for other positions in 6-9 meses.Dada my experience, I’m thinking it would be useful as a clinical project manager or business development. I think jobs business development will also lead to further oppurtunities. Is that correct? Also, what is the career path of a project manager in the pharmaceutical sector? I am interested in your views! Thanks!

Hi, I have been working as a business development in a biotechnology company. My daily function was as following: 1 – market research to determine the possible clientes2 – cold calling cables and leads to the oportunidades.3 – optimization of contracts and communication with CSOs and CEOs of farmacéuticas.4 biotechnology companies and – after paying the customer’s finance department and our own empresa.5 – Updating the sales force, which is a website specifically designed as the use of client-database client. The next step was my manager that it was technically “the business development manager, and was involved in the generation of potential customers for travel around the world, have meetings, and conducting presentaciones. No sure how much I was winning, but I’m sure he was receiving a commission for its role ventas.El my friend as a project manager, was more like the organization of conferences and meetings, as well as data entry. She had nothing to do with the sale, but was mainly due to “communicator.” What you choose, I wish you luck.
